North Carolina state government seeks to set an example of environmental stewardship in the way it conducts business. Executive Order 156 "State Government Environmental Sustainability, Reduction of Solid Waste, and Procurement of Environmentally Preferable Products" has triggered the formation of a team of sustainability officers from all Executive and Council of State agencies and universities.
