Dear DoD P2 Partnership Listserve,
My name is Matt de la Houssaye, and I work for Georgia p2ad (pollution
prevention assistance division). I am helping to write a chapter on
hazardous material pharmacies in a best practices guide. I am looking
for "success stories" in this area.
I have a limited amount of information on the success of Fort
Campbell, Fort Knox, NAVDEP, Cherry Point, NC; MCLB Albany, Charleston,
SC. AFB, and Seymour-Johnson AFB, NC. I would appreciate any information
that anyone has on the successful implementation of hazardous material
pharmacies, including from the 5 installations already mentioned. In
addition, I would appreciate any "lessons learned" from those bases who
have operated these pharmacies for some time.
I am also looking for comparisons between the different systems, i.e.
HMMS, HSMS, AF-EMIS, or any others. So far, I am waiting to receive an
AF Audit Study done in 1998, and I have found cost comparisons from the
people who make HMMS. I would appreciate any additional information on
cost, or other comparisons, especially the information spent in deciding
which software to choose from.
The following 7 army bases are still unknown as to what type of
software, if any they use for the management of hazardous materials. I
would appreciate any information on these bases.
Anniston Army Depot, Anniston, AL.
Fort McClellan
Redstone Arsenal, Huntsville, AL.
Fort Gillem, Forest Park, Ga
Hunter Army Airfield, Savannah, Georgia
Lexington Bluegrass Army Depot Activity
Military Ocean Terminal, Sunny Point, Southport, NC.
The Hazardous Material software for the following Navy installations are
also unknown.
Naval Air Station, Cecil Field, FL.
Naval Security Group Acitivity
Naval Air Station, Jacksonville, Fl.
Naval Air Station West, Key West, Fl.
Naval Air Station, Mayport, Fl.
Naval Air Station, Whiting Field, Fl.
Naval Air Station, Pensacola, Fl.
The Hazardous Material software for the following bases IS known,
however, all other AF and Marine installations are not.
Marine Corps Air Station, New River
MCLB, Albany
Maxwell AFB,
Moody AFB
Robins AFB
Seymour-Johnson AFB
Charleston AFB
Arnold AFB
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
