"Preserving Our Homeland - Our Nation - Our Environment"

Our Nation has obviously undergone dramatic changes since last year's conference with a strong renewal of our national priorities - specifically our national security, our individual well-being, and our way of life. It is fair to say that for all of us, the time since September 11th has been marked by a strong sense of purpose and resolve. We know that to sustain our natural resources that in turn support our readiness mission, we must continue to focus on integration, transformation, and collaboration. As such, these three imperatives will form the common thread that will be woven throughout the Conference.


The primary Conference goal is to share practical information and ideas in a spirit of collective partnering to better support our Nation's military mission while enhancing the environment.  The agenda is focused on key environmental managers and leaders in the southeast to provide relevant information on military transformation, environmental security, and sustainable military communities.

The program is structured around Plenary sessions that provide a top-down perspective on environmental security, sustainable installations, military readiness and environmental stewardship; an EPA roundtable session on Regulatory Assessment/Feedback; and States' perspective on Environmental Sustainability and Future Investments.

Tracks that provide focus to gain greater depth in a particular area. The primary tracks are the standard pillars of Compliance, Conservation, Cleanup and Pollution Prevention; special tracks cover Environmental Security, Sustainable Installations, Environmental Management and Natural Resources - Conservation.
