[P2assist] Forklift Propane tanks

Is there any other way to reuse/recondition used
propane cyclinders from forklift use.  We have ~30
empty propane steel cyclinders that have seen years of
use.  We have went to a lease cylinder system and are
no longer refilling our own propane tanks for the
forklifts and now need to dispose existing fleet of
cyclinders.
Metal recyclers have said they would take them if the
top valve was removed.  Is there a
re-use/re-conditioner for these tanks?  Seems a waste
to just junk these at a metal recycler.
