A large number of computer recyclers are listed on Wake County's web page
or in the NC DPPEA Recycling Markets Directory.
Wake County's list can be found on our web page at
http://www.co.wake.nc.us/solidwaste. Click on Recycling Markets and then
Computers.

Subject: [P2assist] Computer Equipment Recycling
I would appreciate any information that you might have on computer
equipment
recycling costs. I have several types of SCRAPPED computer equipment that
is to be recycled. This equipment is beyond use for any give-away
programs.
We are currently paying $25/ monitor $5/keyboard and $.95/lbs on
miscellaneous. I'm really just wanting to know if there are any other more
competitive alternatives. Thanks for the help.

Republic Metals Corporation in Miami, Florida recycles some computer
components. Their website is at
http://www.republicmetalscorp.com/indexe.html. I did an ISO 14001
registration audit at this facility several years ago, and at the
time, they were recycling computer circuit boards and extracting some
of the metals. They may also have some leads for you on where you can
recycle the other components.

Contact John Rhinehardt with Computel (704)376-1116 or Keith Gilliam with
Synergy (336)548-7014. Both companies have been quite competitive for
governments. There is also a company in Florida www.scrapcomputers.com, or
contact them at Jack's Recycling, 4676 Dusk Court, Jacksonville, FL 32207.

Hope this helps,
