Although we have not implemented it here, I worked for other places that
used a reward system.  Make the recyclable's pay.  If the money made from
any recycling was put into a kitty.  At the end of a pre-determined time,
have a party, picnic, cookout, etc. using the funds from the kitty.
Additionally, set a goal on waste reduction.  If you reach the goal,
contribute extra money and make it a bigger, better party, picnic etc.

Our company is considering some type of program to encourage employee
participation in developing more environmental activities such as
recycling, reducing waste, etc.  What type of incentives have you used in
the past?
