The Carolina Recycling Association (CRA) is very pleased to announce it
has signed on as a major sponsor of the Southern Energy and Environment
Expo. coming up October 19 - 21 at the WNC Ag. Center (this events full
announcement is copied below).<br>

The CRA will be actively present in two capacities for you at the
expo.&nbsp; <br>
<br>
First, CRA will have a booth to inform all of you of this diverse and
dynamic organization that has been advancing waste reduction and
recycling in North and South Carolina since 1989 through policy advocacy,
education, training, workshops, recognition, networking, and more.&nbsp;

Second, through a generous grant from the EPA, the CRA will be presenting a <b>FREE MAJOR WORKSHOP</b>: Green Building - Strategies and Techniques - from 4 to 7 p.m. on Saturday, October 20 in the Expo's main classroom.&nbsp; This session will address how to plan and design green buildings that reduce the impact on the environment, are healthy to their occupants and conducive to higher work productivity.&nbsp;&nbsp; <br>

- Greening Your Business - presented by the EXPO's KEYNOTE SPEAKER, Chuck Knierem of Wild Rose Farm<br>
- Recycled and Renewable Content Building and Interior Materials - presented by Cindy Meehan-Patton of the WNC Green Building Council<br>
- Indoor Air Quality - presented by Arthur Martin of Arthur V. Martin and Associates<br>
- Energy Efficient Lighting - presented by Art Lins of the Waste Reduction Partners<br>

The session will be moderated by Ron Townley, Integrated Solid Waste Management Planner for the Land-of-Sky Regional Council and CRA Board Member.<br>

The Southern Energy &amp; Environment Expo</font></b><font face="Arial, Helvetica"> is a three-day public event designed to showcase <b>modern, sustainable energy technologies and regional &quot;green&quot; enterprises</b> in a context of responsible environmental stewardship for the Southern Mountain Region. <br>
The S.E.E. Expo will demonstrate proven alternatives for the <b>sustainable development</b> of the region, merging together the <b>economic, environmental and energy opportunities</b> presently available. By working together for the future of our region and our children, we can make a difference! <br>
<b>Anticipated attendance</b> is for more than 10,000 people over three days. <b>The Western N. C. Agricultural Center (</b>Exit 9 off Interstate 26, across from Asheville Regional Airport) is also the site (at other times) for the N.C. Mountain State Fair and many other large events, making it ideal for easy public access and on-site services. <br>
<b>Exhibit booths</b> are still available for both commercial enterprises and non-profit organizations. <br>
<b>Exhibits will feature sustainable energy technologies and conservation, energy-efficient products, local and regional &quot;green&quot; enterprises, regional environmental organizations and advocacy groups, low-impact development, organic agriculture, sustainable forestry and much more.</b> <br>
<b>Workshops and presentations</b> will be offered at no extra charge to the public during the course of the S.E.E. Expo. These workshops and presentations will cover such topics as solar energy, wind power, small-scale hydro, alternative building techniques, community activism, environmental alternatives to present practices, and much more. Exhibitors will be eligible, and are encouraged, to offer workshops or presentations of their services, products or interests, at no extra charge to Exhibitors, within the S.E.E. Expo guidelines and as scheduling permits. <br>
<b>Large displays and demonstrations</b> of Exhibitors, such as solar systems, wind plants, and alternative vehicles will be accommodated in an outdoor area adjacent to the main indoor Exhibit Arena. <br>
<b>Entertainment</b> will be provided during the course of the weekend by regional artists and musicians at no extra charge to the public, except for the scheduled <b>Saturday night Benefit Concert</b>, which will have a separate admission fee of $12.<br>
