Dear P2Assist Friends,

We received these two inquiries from our colleagues and are
requesting that you lend a hand with solutions. Please respond to the entire
list so we might develop a bit of conversation to find more solutions. If
you have dealt with similar situations or are aware of solutions that others
have come up with, we'd love to hear from you. As always, thanks for being a
part of our group.

Question 1:

Our community has a problem with green waste that is too large for a
yardwaste cart. At certain times of the year, the brush collection can be
so overwhelming that other refuse collection services get behind schedule.
We experience a lot of brush from unincorporated areas that illegally dump
on vacant lots. Does anyone have any creative ideas for dealing with this
type of situation?

Question 2:

My community currently provides curbside recycling collection through a
private contactor. The cost is becoming prohibitive. I am looking in to
the Town providing the collection services in house. Does anyone have any
experience in moving from private collection to providing the service? I
would be interested in knowing how things worked out.

Kindest regards,
Tom
