If you look in the November Products Finishing Magazine on page 82
you will see an article on a material that can be introduced into sodium
hydroxide or acids to remove the metals and organics with simple filtration.
This should eliminate 85 to 95% of the solid waste and save on purchases of
new sodium hydroxide and muratic acid. The article link is.
