                      Environmental Health Specialist

Conduct site/soil evaluations in accordance with NC Laws and Rules for
sewage treatment and disposal systems.  Perform final inspections on
wastewater systems; inspect swimming pools and migrant camps; provide
emergency response; investigate complaints; assist in well/water quality
and inspection of food service and institutional facilities as required by
state rules/laws as needed.  Bachelor's degree with 30 semester hours in
physical or biological science; or equiv.  Eligibility for registration by
NC State Board of Sanitarian Examiners as a Sanitarian Intern.  Registered
Sanitarian in NC w/ exp. conducting site/soil evaluations preferred.
