As part of South Carolina's America Recycles Day activities, Keep the
Midlands Beautiful will host a FREE seminar, "Starting an Office
Recycling Program,"  on Tuesday, October 22 from 7:30 to 10 a.m. at the
Greater Columbia Chamber of Commerce. You'll learn how to get started,
what to do with your recyclables (or who can pick them up), and how
recycling can reduce your bottom line.

The seminar, coordinated Keep the Midlands Beautiful, SC DHEC, Paper
Stock Dealers and SC Department of Commerce Recycling Market Development
Advisory Council, will teach local businesses why it is important to
recycle at work and how to easily and effectively start an office
recycling program. The seminar will be led by recycling experts from
coordinating organizations and include panelists from businesses who
have successfully implemented office recycling programs.

The morning will begin with a free continental breakfast at 7:30 to 8 a.m.
The formal program will take
place from 8 to 9:30 a.m. Following the program, there will be time for
participants to network with area recycling vendors. Businesses who
participate in the October 22 seminar will receive an America Recycles
Day business decal and have an opportunity to participate in an America
Recycles Day recycling drive-through, drop-off site at the Greater
Columbia Chamber of Commerce on November 15.
