For those interested in increasing energy efficiency, the Energy Star Dorm
Room project at Tulane University provides a great model. Developed by
students, the campus environmental coordinator, and EPA, the dorm room has
been occupied and open for tours since the fall. A website was launched this
month to share the strategy and results. See http://green.tulane.edu At UNC
Chapel Hill we are planning a model Sustainable Dorm Room and Sustainable
Office exhibit, complete with vendors, as part of our Earth Day activities.
I found that the Energy Star store locator website provided me with eight
Energy Star partner stores within 10 miles of campus.

We also plan to distribute information about environmentally preferable
products to next year's incoming students.
If you have organized similar efforts, I would appreciate hearing about
them.

Change is inevitable. It's the resistance to change that's optional.
