At our last meeting folks expressed interest in visiting the new
Sustainable/Green EPA Building at RTP (
http://www.epa.gov/rtp/facilities/maincampus.htm
<http://www.epa.gov/rtp/facilities/maincampus.htm> ) We have been invited
for a tour and offered a classroom to conduct a short meeting. We have
planned the meeting for a Friday hoping to allow our members whose schedule
is dominated by the Legislature this summer to participate.
Advisory team members, please consider inviting your colleagues responsible
for facility planning and design to come with you. We just need to sign
them up but there will be plenty of room. Following are some of the reasons
why.
Sustainable building techniques key at EPA RTP: Low VOC interiors,
Daylighting, Energy Efficiency, Stormwater Management, Water efficiency,
Reduced Site Disturbance. Construction waste management. Renewable Energy
and others.
See how it was done. How it effected the budget. What a green building
looks like. Talk with the guys who made it happen.
